Have a purpose

The most fundamental aggression to ourselves, the most fundamental harm we can do to ourselves is to remain ignorant by not having the courage and the respect to look at ourselves honestly and gently.

Exercise 1: A simple exercise to do this would be to pen down the things you enjoy doing and the things you don’t. Mention anything and everything that you can think of, regardless of how crazy it might be. Pen it down on a piece of paper. Write it, for your own sake! Next, begin to strike out the things that are not on your priority list. Consider realistic and applicable factors; be true to yourself while executing or you may end up deceiving yourself.

Exercise 2: Ask your close ones to assess you, and speak their heart out. At times you know the answer and you have the potential, but you still want someone to reassure you. Talk to them, let them help you get your thoughts organized, or, prepare a list of questions around yourself that you want others to answer for you. Allow them to answer, what they feel about you – compliment or criticism. Be prepared and willing to face the results. Bear in mind, ask only those who know you well, or the ones whom you are sure will give honest feedback.

What’s your story?

Your story is what defines you. Who you are? What do you do? What are those experiences or adventures from your book of life that you can share with others and create an impact on yourself? Your story will help you discover aspects that you might have missed out on, but are the most crucial ones. This allows you to bridge the gap between your past experiences and future prospects.

Elevate your standards

Have the guts to answer all the questions your mind wants to ask – Face Them! They give you immense clarity, and once you are aware, promote your principles.

To get here, you need to take up self-discipline, modify your habits, become committed, and make sure you do whatever it takes. Practice is the key to all your questions. If you master this, you can be anyone you want.
